Basecamp project management and collaboration

Mar 05 2008: Thanks to all those who have offered access to an account. I have now got access to a basecamp account and will be able to begin work on an update to the widget soon.

Feb 18 2008: After a very long hiatus I am back on deck and keen to improve the problems that people have been contacting me about. Namely OpenID and HTTPS login issues. However, as I have stopped using Basecamp myself I require access to an API enabled Basecamp account. If anyone would like the help by granting me access I can make bug-fixes and even get onto the long awaited version two.

What Is this?

This is an Apple Dashboard Widget that connects to Basecamp - a web-based project management application produced by 37signals. If you use Basecamp and OS X this widget will allow you to conveniently access your Basecamp projects from your desktop.

I have plans to add a whole slew of features depending on how this initial release fares. I'm interested to consider any feature requests here.

Hopefully this will be ready in another couple of weeks.

Requirements

To use this widget you will require the following

  1. Mac OS 10.4+
  2. A Basecamp account (Personal Account or higher) - get one here.
  3. Login credentials to your Basecamp account
  4. API access enabled in your account - under the 'Accounts' tab in your Basecamp account.

Trouble Shooting

Most problems relate to basecamp account connection. So I recommend you double check the following:

  1. Your login credentials username/password
  2. Your basecamp account url
  3. Your basecamp account has the API enabled.

Known Issues

The following issues are known and will be addressed in future releases:

  1. Loading screen flickers after item (un)completion
  2. The information 'i' does not show for some users
